These ten Indian wedding planning ideas are basically what I would tell any bride who is currently arranging her bridal lehenga and is wondering, “What should I buy and how should I plan my wedding?”
I feel like I could take over the world when I began wedding planning. Okay, not quite, but I was self-assured enough to get things done. Despite this, I learned some valuable lessons along the way — things I wish I had known before I began, let’s dive right into it.
Here’s the gist:
The issue about Wedding ceremonies is that brides would like to jump right in without thinking about how they’re going to do it. It’s because we’re all ecstatic, and we’re all intelligent Indian people who get things done. But then, around halfway through the planning process, you have a panic attack as there are so many activities going on over and flowing at you from all directions.
Instead of deciding on a mandap style right away, take a pause and consider the big picture as your first step. Discuss your desires and priorities with your partner before moving on to the details of buying yourbridal gowns.
Put more efforts
Too several Indian women have their hearts set on the wedding of their dreams. When you start planning your own wedding, things are drastically different when you buy your gowns online.
It doesn’t matter how many individuals you’ve assisted — your sister, cousin, or best friend – if you take the time to master each aspect of wedding planning rather than attempting to master everything at once, you’ll come out ahead.
Take everyone’s opinion
This may or may not come as a shock to you. That everybody and her mother, brother, and uncle will get an input on how you arrange your wedding.
That is, if you are willing to share it with others. If you’re the sort that enjoys hearing other people’s thoughts and views, go ahead and do so, but limit yourself to a limited, trusted circle to find the bestbridal lehenga. Who am I kidding, I’m joking. Even if you limit it to a limited group, you’ll get unsolicited advice and comments on what you should or should not do, as well as what looks really good and what doesn’t.
My strategy is to keep cool and collected when someone expresses an opinion. Allow yourself to be unaffected by it. “Yes, that’s a terrific idea,” you say, and walk away.
It’s more than just a wedding
Most likely, you have a secret Pinterest board where you keep all of your “viable” ideas. That’s fantastic – you have ideas, and this is a terrific place to start. The truth is that your engagement will be more than simply yours. It’s your mother’s wedding, as well as your mother-in-law’s.
At least one item you don’t want will most likely be desired by your relatives. To which I respond, hone your negotiating abilities and cope with the situation! It’s usually a good idea to be receptive to your family’s desires.
It’ll be difficult, but in the end, a compromise will be reached. More advice may be found in my post: Trying to alleviate Family Conflicts to Get It through Indian Upcoming Wedding for your bridal lehengaand other affairs.
Make your budget well
Spend your money wisely. We’re all Americans here, so we’re always looking for ways to save money.
Plus, by including such elements, it enhanced the quality of our wedding. Our reception area looked wonderful because of the excess lighting we intended to eliminate. I’m pleased we didn’t take shortcuts there.
Make Proper Schedule
So if you’ve got a step-by-step strategy in place, you’ll still get a pit in your stomach halfway through the planning process. It’s the knot in your gut that you can’t seem to get rid of. It’s a foregone conclusion. It’s just a part of the bridal gownspreparation process.
There’s no need to panic or become nervous. Consider it as beneficial butterflies! Tell yourself to keep focused and motivated – you already know what the final result will be, so all you have to do now is concentrate on that.
Dress trials are crucial
My mother physically pushed me to attempt on my wedding attire as an outfit three times. I had no idea my dress would require so much tinkering to make someone feel great. After all, we’re talking about Indian bridal gowns.
It’s a thing to have the skirt’s height just perfect, but it’s quite another to ensure sure there are no sharp things or threads poking you in unexpected areas. The groom is subject to the same rule.
Mehndi Artist
I was hesitant to get full-on elaborate mehndi applied on my hands, wrists, and feet. Not to add that the scent makes me queasy. I opted to employ a mehndi artist who was not Indian. I saw her work, had a nice conversation with her, and she took the time to layout the mehndi and only utilized natural mehndi.
She even prepares her own post-workout ointment. I was blown away by the end product; it was simple, clean, and polished, not to mention stunning! My argument is that you should think beyond the box.
Is your decor ready to go?
People expect a series of performances and now a list of comments in Indian weddings – your father, your fiancee’s father, your sibling, your BFFs, your Bridesmaid, his Best Man, you get the idea. Who gets to sit through with an hour of remarks find the perfect gowns online for you and skits at a reception.
Guests attend your party to eat, laugh, perform, and have a wonderful time -that’s all there is to it! Allow them to get to the meat of the matter and they lose interest. Move on to the enjoyment by keeping the program brief, sweet, and to the point. You’ll be grateful to me afterward.
Have Fun
No, seriously, don’t forget to have a good time. It’s not worth it for Indian brides to take themselves too seriously. First and foremost, you don’t want a stressed-out expression on your face — aunties will notice, and it will show up in photographs!
It’s your day — you have spent months planning it, and now it’s time to relax and enjoy your day in your dreamy bridal lehenga. Things may not go as planned, but you have control over your mindset. Yes, you’ll all be sweltering if the air conditioning goes out, but at least the DJ’s equipment will still function!
