You landed the job and it is time to visit the Evergreen State.  The pros and cons of moving to Seattle for a bit might be a little daunting.  Here, you’ll find the benefits of taking a job here after you’ve found some local Seattle corporate housing of course!

Food is Where the Heart Is

Even if you aren’t a foodie, there’s something for everyone to love in Seattle.  Because they are so close to the water, the prices of seafood are lower … there’s just a lot of options to choose from.

One of the most popular places to go for food and unique finds is Pike Place Market, or really any farmer’s market really.  In Washington, many of the fruits and veggies are grown from nutrient dense soils in the area.  The apples are tastier, the squashes have thinner skins, the fish is pristine, the flowers are gorgeous and there are also plenty of other items sold at the market from tools to clothes!

There are many award winning restaurants in Seattle that you can try, but the heart of the food is in the mom and pop shops.  The influence of the local culture and a focus on farm fresh foods really makes the local eateries pop.  Check out the places you see packed at the end of the day and you’ll find the best food you’ve had in your life!

Stone’s Throw From Everything

Seattle is not for everyone, and that’s okay!  But here’s the benefit of Seattle for those who are tired of the city: Many interesting sites and weekend spots are not that far from Seattle.  From staying at American Indian reservations, to traveling to blackberry farms, or picking fresh tulips, there is something for everyone here.

If you are more on the social scene of things, then you’ll find an active nightlife all over the Emerald city.  Bar crawls are a popular thing to do and there are also many tours that go under the city, ghost tours, and even a counterculture that’s easy to find in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

If volunteer work is more of what you want to do, then you are going to find plenty of opportunities here.  There are ways to help the local wildlife, sealife, and the local ecosystem.  The city also has plenty of humanitarian volunteer opportunities too!

Melting Pot of Cultures

Washington state was settled on American Indian lands and the state still honors those lands with reservations dedicated to the local tribes.  Washington also works to incorporate other cultures and educates its citizens with well established museums such as the African American and Asian Art museums.

While not everyone is going to be accepting or understanding of different cultures, the general attitude of the city is very open and expressive of the different cultures.  There is a large focus on ensuring that local tribes are supported and their items are regularly sold in local stores.

If you haven’t experienced cultural richness before, then Seattle is a melting pot where you can learn about many other cultures and individuals

Environments That Encourage Health

One of the largest benefits that you will find in Seattle is a change in environment.  This isn’t just about exploring the wilderness, but it is also a mental change.  There are healthier options at restaurants and there is a focus on physical and mental well-being.

Not every individual may agree with this, but when you move to a location that has more accessible resources, healthier options, and a better climate than most areas, it is easier to make healthier choices.  Just walking outside daily becomes something to enjoy rather than dread.

Conclusion

While not everyone is going to enjoy the outdoors, and some people truly hate going outside, the beauty of the scenery is something that everyone can appreciate.  Seattle is a gorgeous location that has so many different options compared to other cities.

In Seattle, you aren’t restricted to just one kind of activity thanks to the hot or cold.  There’s a variety of sports, different cultures to learn from, new foods to try, and perhaps even new ways to think.  You won’t regret your temporary stay in Seattle!
