Series A is gearing up to resume its season amid the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning players from around the world must now team up to train. Juventus started training on Monday and it looks like they will miss a large part of their team.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been in his hometown of Madeira, Portugal, for the past few weeks, is reportedly stuck on the island due to travel restrictions for COVID-19. According to the Mirror, Ronaldo’s private plane was due to leave Spain to pick him up on Sunday and transport him to Turin to start training.. But Spain’s travel restrictions kept the plane grounded.

The delay would be less and Ronaldo could probably travel to Turin next week. However, training will still be delayed due to the mandatory quarantine that Italy has imposed on anyone entering the country. Ronaldo will have to isolate himself for 14 days before starting to train with his Juventus teammates, respecting, of course, the protocols of social distancing.

Not that Ronaldo had contacted his television addict while he was in Madeira. If you’ve been serving wine and snacks while watching “Tiger King,”.. You’re doing it among the numerous photos and exercise videos you’ve posted.

It’s probably frustrating enough for Ronaldo to miss the start of training, especially after the season’s suspension. But it’s hard to feel too bad for him. You are stranded on a beautiful Portuguese island known for its delicious wine, your partner and children are there, and you can probably leave in a few more days. Wouldn’t we all like to be “stranded” in a beautiful environment, forced to wait a few more days before going back to work?
